For my spec-fic oriented friends: Trinoc*coN 8 starts today and runs through the weekend. Trinoc*coN is the Triangle's own SF convention; it's in Raleigh this year at the North Raleigh Hilton. And, for all you Song of Ice and Fire freaks, the Con GoH is George R. R. Martin. There's gaming also, along with other SF-Con type stuff.
