Come on, you're in Chapel Hill on Franklin Street. Can't you find something better to do than go to Kildare's? There are better bars and better places to eat. Yeah, the fireplace and some of the seating is nice, but I kinda felt like I was in some faux-Irish Disneyland. Ok, well, if you must, enjoy yourself.
BTW, if anyone can point me at a good, complete listing of Chapel Hill's many watering holes, I'll post a link.
Funny, I was just wondering the other day if I would still enjoy a Double-Rare Roast Beef at the Rathskeller.

And now I read it closed back in 2008. Too bad. What's in the space now?

Can't remember: it's been so long since I went there that I don't remember where it was. :( Other Franklin St. casualties: most of the bookstores. There's just one left on the west end of Franklin.

The Rath space is still empty, last time I checked.
