Guglhupf, who added a nice café onto their baking side a long time ago, will have that café open for dinner for the first time tonight (6 October 2009). The café has always looked really neat inside, but now it has some new lighting:
I couldn't help but be reminded of Maxfield Parrish's "The Lantern Bearers":
All images should link to larger copies, but Maxfield Parrish with a cellphone I'm not. :)

Is there waitstaff at Guglhupf dinner time? One thing I've always appreciated about Guglhupf (and Foster's for that matter) is the combination of a really casual atmosphere and really good food. That is to say, I can enjoy a nice meal at these places without the fuss of table waitstaff that often hover or otherwise botch the service and put a sour note on an otherwise splendid dinner.

I hope they start making sauerbraten

Tooth - Dunno, because I haven't actually been in there yet during dinner hours. Sorry.
Fritz - Here's hoping.

I went to Guglhupf for dinner last night and they do have table waitstaff. The look and feel of the place is completely different at night with the ambient lighting they have going on. My lady and I sat outside and enoyed a really nice meal in a magical night setting.
Notable changes for the dinner service (compared to breakfast/lunch): White table cloths on all tables inside and out, liquor offerings, hostesses and waitresses. The food at dinner is just as good as you'd expect.
